This is way too hopeful, I'm sure, but I may as well give it a shot. I'm listening to a CD released on Nuphonic that appears to be an ad of sorts for a radio show called 'London Xpress'. It's got Andrew Weatherall, Harvey and David Holmes doing mixes on there. Andrew Weatherall plays the most this-listy stuff (Lali Puna, Plaid, Burnt Friedman, John Tejada, et al) but one of David Holmes's tracks is definitely not what the sleeve says it is, and that's the one I want IDed. Supposedly track 18 is 'Sweet Cocaine' by Fred Neil, but there's just no way that's what it is. For those who haven't heard Fred's stuff, he's a NYC folkie. From memory Bob Dylan got his first break playing harmonica for him on stage. I have an album of his with 'Sweet Cocaine' on it, and this track is nothing like it. It's a kind of psychedelic disco jam - big beat, heaps of congas, wah guitar, strings, and some guy singing "doo doo doo" vocals in falsetto. All up it sounds more to me like Van McCoy or something, but it's pretty rough for him. Hmm. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
